Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing smart healthcare systems by enabling improved diagnostics, personalized treatment, and efficient patient management. This paper reviews recent advancements in AI technologies applied in healthcare, such as machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision. Additionally, it identifies critical challenges including data privacy, interoperability, algorithmic bias, and infrastructure constraints, particularly within the Pakistani healthcare ecosystem. The article further proposes strategies to overcome these barriers to ensure sustainable AI integration. Two data visualizations demonstrate the growth trends in AI healthcare research and the distribution of AI applications in different healthcare domains. The study concludes with recommendations for policymakers, researchers, and healthcare providers to accelerate AI adoption while addressing ethical and technical concerns.
